Media Networks

This post responds to the presentation regarding equality and balance among media networks in the United States.

I think the presentation of the material was strong. The presenters supported their claims with several videographic examples, their organization was good, and their research appears thorough. Each of the presenters spoke well and was knowledgeable of his/her material. That time was spent on the production of this presentation was obvious.

The message, however, was interestingly contradictory to the obvious political leanings of the presenters. The overarching question forwarded by the group at the beginning of the presentation was whether the major news networks are balanced in their reporting, indicating to me that the group members would address the subject from an unbiased position. The presenters proceeded then to attempt to demonstrate that the Fox News Network is clearly conservative, while others are centrist. Only L–, when presenting, did seem to come to a realization during his segment and actually admitted the leftist tendencies of CNN.

The presentation was thorough and well done, if politically inclined.

One Response to “Media Networks”

  1. Ironically, it is nearly impossible to discuss and examine bias while ignoring and/or checking our own!
